Institutional staking as an infrastructure service
What this means

Ether closed Tuesday at $2,485 and was trading near $2,510 as Monday's session wrapped up. The last few days have seen bitcoin ETFs bleed, but ether has only dripped twice, then boomed back with its best inflow day. Here is everything you need to know.
On Tuesday, Ether closed at $2,485, down 0.20%. Wednesday, it closed at $2,468, down 0.67%. In terms of ETF flows, it was a mixed bag. On Tuesday, it was the first outflow day since August 11, with a total of $24.3 million exiting the funds. However, this flow quickly changed to a $34.7 million inflow on Wednesday.
Thursday saw ether close at $2,438, down 1.25% and marking its lowest close for the week. For Thursday, ETFs mass exited to the tune of $29.9 million, mirroring the caution seen with the bitcoin funds for the day.
Helped push prices for both bitcoin and ether higher, and ether was no exception. Ether spiked to $2,654 for the day, its best price in weeks, and settled at $2,516 for a 3.23% gain. BlackRock's inflows, to the tune of $148.8 million into ETHA, helped drive Ether ETF flows for the day, totaling $216.4 million, the largest inflows of the week.

For the weekend, Ether reached a high of $2,526 on Saturday, and settled at $2,477 on Sunday, down 1.94% as the same fears of the Fed hikes that affected bitcoin started to impact Ether as well.
ETH began trading at $2,476, down 2% from yesterday’s opening price, and bounced back through trade in the $2,500-$2,520 range. Ether flows recovered too, with $121.1 million flowing back in, and one source says that Ether is up approximately 60% for the third quarter so far. Though after a spike to $2,654 on Friday, Ether did retreat.

Compared to ETH, Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw outflows for 4 consecutive days (Tuesday to Friday), totaling $462.7 million. Ether Spot ETFs only saw outflows twice, totaling $54.2 million, before a $216.4 million inflow erased those. Measured from August 11 to September 10, Ether outperformed bitcoin for the price move by about 33% versus bitcoin's price move by around 23%, and Ether’s Spot ETFs saw net inflows of $863 million vis-a-vis bitcoin’s Spot ETFs, which were nearing $1 billion in outflows for the year.
Away from price fluctuations, Lido launched the V3 expansion of its stVaults product for institutions on the 9th of September. It provides institutions with configurable and non-custodial staking infrastructure with client-side custody and permissions, fees, and liquidity controls. It is designed to meet the needs of asset managers and custodians looking to earn staking rewards without losing control over their assets. The overall objective of this product is to eliminate the barriers and provide the necessary staking infrastructure for institutions on a bank or fund level.
Ether traded sideways around the $2,500 level, closing prices above it three times and below it four times without moving far from the level. The ceiling at $2,654 has been intact all week, and the $2,438 level, Thursday's low, held as support on subsequent tests. The $CLARITY Act and the Fed decision that will impact both ETH and BTC were both pending, and with ETF demand strong and even unrelated BTC products bleeding, ETH has a steady bid for next week compared to BTC, even though price does not reflect it.
