    Top BTC Treasury Companies

As of 18 Oct, Strategy (MSTR) holds 848,517 BTC (19 Oct filing). It bought 267 BTC over 12-18 Oct for $22.1M, averaging $82,900/BTC.

Its average cost per BTC is about $75,446. The week prior (5-11 Oct), MSTR added 250 BTC at an average price of $86,194/BTC and held 848,250 BTC.

    Software updates

Bitcoin Core 32.0 was scheduled for release on 10 Oct but I couldn’t confirm it was released. It includes faster block validation, better fee estimation and security fixes.

Bitcoin Core still has 31.1 listed as the latest version on its download page.

There is no consensus change in 32.0, so it’s not a price event.

    Bitcoin Supply and Holdings

About 95.72% of Bitcoin’s 21 million supply has been mined. There are 20,101,715 BTC in circulation and 898,285 BTC left to mine.

About 1.29 million BTC (6.42% of circulating supply, about $107 billion at the 20 Oct close) are held by U.S. spot ETFs, and about 1.22 million BTC (6.07%, about $101 billion) are held by publicly traded companies.

Strategy alone holds 848,517 BTC, about 70% of all public-company holdings.

Satoshi is believed to have mined about 1.1 million (an estimate). Retail holdings, defined as wallets that hold less than 1 BTC, are about 1.4 million BTC (a proxy, as of 14 Oct).

    What it means

It is estimated that support is at about $81,500 and resistance is at about $83,500 to $84,000.

ETFs have experienced large outflows and large inflows, with the inflows being larger.

As the FOMC meeting is on 27-28 Oct, we should see if BTC can break above $84K.

Data and Sources: Price Data from CoinGecko and Investing.com, ETF inflows and outflows from Farside and SoSoValue-based reports, ETF Holdings from BitcoinTreasuries.net and Bitbo, Supply data from CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko, and Strategy from SEC filings.
