Key Takeaways
  • BNB's price jumped 3.51% on Monday to $799.65 with an intraday high of $807.05. Bitcoin also jumped on Monday, closing the day above $87,000, though neither coin's intraday high matched its closing price.

  • On Wednesday, BNB's price dropped to an intraday low of $757.12. BNB ended the day down 2.65%.

  • On Tuesday, BNB Chain added features to its developer suite to allow payment in stablecoins and no-cloud AI agent deployment on the blockchain.

  • The Federal Reserve released proposed regulations on stablecoins on Thursday, implementing the GENIUS Act, which would impact the BNB ecosystem given its large stablecoin footprint.

  • BNB still has no meaningful ETF story of its own. VanEck's VBNB, a BNB-based ETF, remains small and unchanged from last week.

Ethereum's Week. A $2,800 Rejection, Five Straight Days of ETF Inflows, and a Quiet Quarter-End

BNB was at approximately $772.36 on Monday. It rose to $799.65 at Monday's closing bell. It touched an intraday high of $807.05. However, it was unable to hold the highs from the day. It consolidated between approximately $767 and $785 for the remaining days of the week.

          Monday

BNB opened at $772.36 and rose to $799.65 at the close. It rose 3.51% for the day and touched an intraday high of $807.05. Although BNB briefly touched above the $800 level intraday, it was unable to close above that mark.

          Tuesday

BNB fell to $788.27, a 1.42% decline. BNB Chain released BNB Agent Studio 4.0. The Studio allows users to add autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) agents to the chain. It also added the ability to deploy agents using NodeOps. It also added the ability to make stablecoin payments using USDT, USDC, and USD1.

          Wednesday

BNB fell to $767.38, a 2.65% decline. It touched an intraday low of $757.12, the low for the week.

Thursday, 24 September: recovery and major regulation

BNB increased by 1.21% and was last trading at $776.70. Also on that day, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System proposed two draft rules implementing the GENIUS Act for payment stablecoin issuers. The first would generally require stablecoin issuers to maintain adequate and lawful reserves to fully back stablecoin liabilities. The second would set out an application process for banks that wish to issue payment stablecoins. According to Governor Barr, some concerns remain, including, for example, the inability of the existing AML/KYC framework to adequately prevent illicit finance, along with run risks on stablecoin deposits. One person reported that BNB Chain is the largest stablecoin network in the industry with around 80 million stablecoin wallets. The person, however, did not provide any supporting evidence.

          Friday, 25 September: essentially flat

Slight movements continued for BNB. It was up 0.06% and was valued at $777.13.

The weekend and the week overall: September 21-27

BNB was traded within a narrow range for the rest of the week. It closed the week at $778.70.

          What it means

$757.12 was the low on Wednesday, and is where we think support is this week. $807.05 was the high on Monday. That is the resistance. It's worth noting, BNB was touching $800 on Monday only for a brief time, and it never closed the week above $800. The CLARITY Act likely will not be moving this year, and the GENIUS Act's stablecoin framework is more likely to move first. The BNB chain is more directly involved with that legislation than most, since it is a major stablecoin network. Like most other large-cap coins, BNB does not have a meaningful ETF to move the price the way Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana do.
