ETH Global Mumbai

About

ETHGlobal Mumbai is a hackathon that brings together developers, designers, founders, and other builders to collaborate, experiment, and create new projects within the Web3 ecosystem.

Unlike a traditional conference centred primarily on talks and networking, the event is built around hands on creation. Participants form teams, explore emerging technologies, work with leading protocols and developer tools, and build functional projects within a limited timeframe. The hackathon provides an environment for rapid experimentation, where an idea can move from concept to prototype alongside mentors, fellow builders, and ecosystem contributors.

ETHGlobal Mumbai is particularly suited to those who want to actively participate in the building process, whether by writing code, designing a product, developing an idea, or contributing to a team. Beyond the competition itself, it offers an opportunity to collaborate with people across the Ethereum and broader Web3 ecosystem.

Who Should Attend?

  • Blockchain Developers: Developers interested in Ethereum and Web3 can build new applications, experiment with different protocols, and collaborate with other technical participants.
  • Smart Contract Developers: Those working with Solidity and other blockchain development tools can use the hackathon to test ideas and build real projects.
  • Product Builders and Founders: Founders and aspiring entrepreneurs with an idea can find potential technical collaborators and rapidly turn an early concept into a prototype.
  • Product Managers: Product professionals who enjoy working closely with developers can contribute through problem definition, product strategy, user flows, and project coordination.
  • UI and UX Designers: Designers can play a valuable role in hackathon teams by creating interfaces, improving usability, and helping transform technical projects into products people can understand and use.
  • Students and Aspiring Web3 Builders: Those looking to enter Web3 can gain practical experience, meet experienced builders, and learn by working on an actual project rather than simply attending talks.
  • Experienced Web3 Builders Looking to Experiment: Developers and builders who already work in the space but want to test a new idea, technology, or collaboration can benefit from the fast paced environment.

Who Should Avoid?

  • Attendees Looking Only for Conference Talks: If your main goal is to sit through presentations and listen to industry discussions without actively participating, a hackathon may not be the best fit.
  • Short Term Traders: Those primarily interested in token prices, market predictions, or trading strategies are unlikely to find the event aligned with their interests.
  • People Unwilling to Collaborate: Hackathons are highly collaborative. Participants should be comfortable working with new people, sharing ideas, and contributing to a team.
  • Those Expecting a Relaxed Networking Event: While networking is an important part of ETHGlobal events, the core experience involves building, problem solving, and working towards a finished project within a limited timeframe.
  • People Looking for Guaranteed Funding or Investment: The event can provide exposure and connections, but it should not be attended solely with the expectation of immediately securing investment or funding.
  • Anyone Uninterested in Building or Creating: You do not necessarily need to be a programmer, but you should be willing to contribute something to the building process, whether through development, design, product thinking, research, or another relevant skill.
